Ramstein Wendelinus Market and Sunday Shopping

In honor of Saint Wendelinus the church parish of Ramstein celebrated the “Wendelinus Market” in 1710 for the first time. The patron saint answered the prayers of the locals and protected their livestock against epizootic diseases. The market was revived in 1986. The event starts with the animal blessing inside the Oktoberfest tent at 11:30 a.m. Visitors can bring their pets along to have them blessed. Afterwards, the mayor officially opens the market with the tapping of the beer keg. The brass band “GPS” entertains the people inside the party tent. Food and beverages are also offered there. Free entrance to the festival tent! The market features about 50 exhibitors selling a large variety of goods such as gift and decoration items, woodwork, leatherwork, jewelry, child´s clothing, Solingen cutlery, scarves, and a lot more. A great choice of food and beverages is available all over the market. Live musical entertainment is also presented on the market square from 12 p.m. Furthermore, stores open for Sunday shopping from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. Market hours are from 12 a.m. to 6 p.m.
