Culinary Wine Hike in Freinsheim

As the warm autumn sun streams through the vineyards, the wine-growing year draws to a close. The landscape is bathed in golden light, and the grape harvest is in full swing. During this beautiful time of year, you are cordially invited to hike through the magnificent vineyards of Freinsheim. Hiking enthusiasts can look forward to a 7 km (4.4 miles) long trail. Along the circular path hikers can taste selected wines of the local vintners and try Palatinate specialties offered at 18 stopover points. Starting point of the trail is the historic city hall (address: Hauptstrasse 2, 67251 Freinsheim). The booths along the trail open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Stores open for Sunday shopping from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The town center is closed to traffic during the event. Parking is available on the outskirts of the village. It is recommended to take a train to Freinsheim.
