Ramstein Funfair

The traditional Ramstein funfair is hosted on the third weekend in September each year. Ramstein’s market square turns into a big fairground. The fair features fun rides as well as musical entertainment and booths offering food, beverages and candies. Amusement rides open from 6 p.m. on Friday. At 8 p.m. the youngsters of the town – the “Ramstein Straußjugend” - meet at the fairground to start the fair with a joyful get-together for the first mug of beer. On Saturday the mayor of Ramstein, Ralf Hechler, officially opens the event by tapping of the beer keg at 7 p.m. Musical entertainment is provided by “Ramsteiner Straßenmusikenten”. A fireworks display is scheduled for 9:45 p.m. On Sunday the traditional raising of the fair pole takes place in front of the Ramstein museum (address: Miesenbacher Strasse 1) at 3 p.m. The fairground opens Saturday through Tuesday at 2 p.m. The family day on Tuesday features special discounts. The festival ends with the “funeral procession” by the “Ramstein Straußjugend” on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.
