“Sickingen – The Rock Historical” at Nanstein Castle
The event “Sickingen – The Rock-Historical” brings the legend of Imperial Knight Franz von Sickingen back to life in a thrilling mixture of rock music, drama, and history. Authors Andy Kuntz, Stephan Lill, and Johannes Reitmeier turn the story of the “last knight” into an emotional stage experience including heroism, faith, love, and betrayal. In the center of attention is a man who fights for justice and freedom, and is broken by power, pride, and destiny. Together with his friend Ulrich von Hutten and his great love Hedwig von Flörsheim, Franz von Sickingen confronts the might of church and monarchs. But his dream of a new order ends with the siege of his castle, Nanstein, and a legendary finale between life and death. Grandiose rock music, powerful ballads, and monumental choruses by the German band Vanden Plas make this event a musical experience. Amid mystical symbolism, poetic language, and modern sounds, a theater performance full of emotion, suspense, and goosebumps arises. The play “Sickingen – The Rock Historical” is about courage, idealism, and the eternal fight for freedom. Immerse yourself in a world where history, music, and myth merge into each other. Further dates: May 25 / 29 / 30 and June 5 / 6. The event starts at 8:30 p.m. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
