Knut Fest in Hütschenhausen
Celebrating the “Knut Fest” is a Swedish tradition to dispose of Christmas trees that are no longer needed. In collaboration with the Hütschenhausen dog association the community of Hütschenhausen carries on this Swedish tradition. For the 9th time the community organizes this festival in January. Interested people are invited to bring along their old Christmas trees without any decoration between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. For each delivered tree a coupon for a cup of Glühwein can be obtained. The event starts at 7 p.m. and takes place on the grounds of the dog association which is located on the outskirts of the village. Children and adults can participate in a long throw competition of Christmas trees. Glühwein (mulled wine), beverages and snacks such as bratwurst are offered. Musical entertainment is provided as well. After the official opening of the festival by the mayor of Hütschenhausen Achim Wätzold, all collected Christmas trees will be burned down.
