Culinary Wine Hike in Freinsheim

Freinsheim is a quaint and picturesque village at the German Wine Street. A 7 km (4.4 miles) long trail leads through the wonderful vineyards of Freinsheim. Along the circular path hikers can taste selected wines of the local vintners and try Palatinate specialties offered at 18 stopover points. Starting point of the trail is the historic city hall (address: Hauptstrasse 2, 67251 Freinsheim). A highlight of the Culinary Wine Hike is a laser show with laser lights and music, which takes place between stand 10 and stand 11 on Friday evening at around 9 p.m. The booths along the trail open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and from 11.30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Stores open for Sunday shopping from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The town center is closed to traffic during the event. Parking is available on the outskirts of the village. It is recommended to take a train to Freinsheim.
