Exhibition “Unser Kerb soll läwe hoch!“ at the Ramstein Museum im Westrich

The Museum im Westrich presents its new special exhibition with the German title “Unser Kerb soll läwe hoch!“ (English translation: “Celebrating the Parish Fair”). This exhibition is dedicated to the tradition of celebrating the parish fair in the Union Community of Ramstein-Miesenbach. The focus is on the history and religious origins as well as on today´s significance of this folk festival for the local clubs and village community. The fair has been an integral part of cultural life for generations. Numerous historical objects, lovingly collected memorabilia, and many photos and documents visualize that the fair is more than just a festival – it is a reflection of the regional identity. The members of the Museum im Westrich are pleased that many local groups (Straußjugend) responsible for creating the fair pole and drafting the fair speech also are actively involved in the exhibition. They provide their own exhibits, pictures and stories, making this exhibition a joint project. The exhibition can be visited until Wednesday, 29 October 2025, throughout the regular opening hours of the museum which are Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free!
