Donnersberg Trail – Running Event in Imsbach

Runners can choose between four routes leading along narrow forest paths and walking trails in the Donnersberg Mountain area:

• Donnersberg-Trail: 49 km (30.4 miles) with 2,080 meters difference in altitude, starting at 9 a.m.
• Donnersberg-Mid-Trail: 35 km (21.7 miles) with 1,570 meters difference in altitude, starting at 9 a.m.
• Imsbacher Gruben-Trail: 23 km (14.3 miles) with 1,000 meters difference in altitude, starting at 9:30 a.m.
• Short-Trail: 10 km (6.2 miles) with 440 meters difference in altitude, starting at 10 a.m.

The running event is organized by the Union Community of Winnweiler and the athletic sports club “Leichtathletik Club Donnersberg e. V.”. Again this year, the organizers offer challenging distances of different lengths including timekeeping and age group classification. Participants can look forward to spectacular views. The first three winning women and men of each route will receive cash prizes and a certificate. An entry fee between € 12 and € 40 will be charged. On the day of the event, the distribution of bib numbers will take place from 7:15 a.m. in the community hall of Imsbach called “Gemeindehalle”. After a short briefing, the runs will start at the fire station. The trails are marked and signposted. Refreshment stations are set up along the way. The destination is at the wooden hut called “Kupferberghütte”, where cooled beverages are available. Participants will be recompensed by the panoramic view. The walk back to the community hall is about 1.2 km. Shower facilities are available there. Runners are invited to stop by at the local restaurants in order to get their empty "carbohydrate stores" refilled.
