Blossom Festival in Freinsheim

The ancient village of Freinsheim hosts its annual blossom festival. The landmark of the village is the medieval ring wall. Visitors are invited to go for a stroll through the historical village center and enjoy local wines and delicious specialties. Wine lovers can purchase a wine pass at the price of € 10. Wine passes are available at the participating wineries where they can sample 8 types of wine on both days from 11.30 a.m. until 6 p.m. The festival features carriage rides starting at the winery Kreuzhof (on Erpolzheimer Strasse no. 1) from 12 p.m. Visitors have the opportunity to walk along the Blossom Hiking Trail and see the beautiful pink and rose colored landscape on the outskirts of the village. The trail has a length of 3.4 miles and is also recommended for families with strollers. The festival takes place from 11.30 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday stores are open for Sunday shopping from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Using public transportation is recommended, since the center of the village (old town) is closed to traffic, parking lots are signposted.
