Merzalben Fasching Parade

The annual night parade of Merzalben is the highlight of the street carnival in the Palatinate Forest. At nightfall numerous walking groups and floats wind their way through the crowded main street in Merzalben. With their illuminated floats and fancy costumes participants create a great atmosphere for the spectators. The parade starts at 7 p.m. After the parade the celebration continues at Festplatz in the village center (Rammelsbachstrasse).

Advice: One of the most impressive and best-preserved castle ruins in the Palatinate Forest, called Burgruine Gräfenstein, can be visited in Merzalben.
