Ramstein Funfair

The traditional Ramstein funfair is hosted on the third weekend in September each year. Ramstein’s market square turns into a big fairground. The funfair features fun rides and booths offering candies, as well as food, beverages, and musical entertainment. Amusement rides open from 6 p.m. on Friday. At 8 p.m. the youngsters of the town – the “Ramstein Straußjugend” - meet at the fairground to start the fair with a joyful get-together for the first mug of beer. On Saturday the mayor of Ramstein, Ralf Hechler, will officially open the fair by tapping the beer keg at 7 p.m. and a fireworks display is scheduled for 9:45 p.m. On Sunday the traditional raising of the fair pole takes place in front of the Ramstein museum (address: Miesenbacher Strasse 1) at 3 p.m. The fairground opens at 2 p.m. Saturday through Tuesday. The family day on Tuesday features special discounts. The festival ends with the “funeral procession” by the “Ramstein Straußjugend” on Tuesday at 8.30 p.m.
