DCR Exhibition: “HANDSHAKE” at the Pfalzbibliothek Kaiserslautern

The exhibition of the Docu Center Ramstein is now displayed at the Pfalzbibliothek Kaiserslautern until April 1st. US Americans and Germans have been living together in the Palatinate for more than 70 years. But how does one actually prepare for such a coexistence? The US military members stationed here, and their families receive a variety of welcome guides informing them about the location and its facilities. There are also travel guides for the closer and further region and finally information books about Germany and the Germans. For German employees the period of occupation already meant a change, as they had to learn a foreign language within a very short time. The exhibition "HANDSHAKE" demonstrates how both sides approach and meet each other. Opening hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Pfalzbibliothek is closed on Sundays.
